The Adequan®/USDF FEI-Level Trainers Conference is an invaluable event to attend and learn from, but unfortunately we can’t all be there. So USDF and YourDressage has you covered with this series of quick takeaways from the 2023 Trainers Conference, featuring Henk van Bergen, Linda Zang, Lilo Fore, and David Hunt!

In this clip, David Hunt reminds riders that, when asking a horse to perform a piaffe, we must make sure we are asking from a position in which the horse is capable of doing the movement – if he’s on a long step, it is difficult to adjust his steps, so we need to shorten the steps first and control the size of the steps before asking.
