In the month of February, we are celebrating all the flashy-splashy colored horses on #YourDressage! Whether your horse is a registered Paint, Appaloosa, Knabstrupper, or Gypsy Horse, sports a patched or spotted coat, or wears lots of chrome, this month is for you!
We recently asked our social media followers to share their loudly colored horses for a chance to be featured on YourDressage, and we got some beautiful colored submissions! Check them out below, and come back all month long for stories of these horses thriving in the dressage ring!
My favorite girl Varden 🤍🖤 2007 American Warmblood
– Anya B.Nettle (Grintosa) my coming 7yo Oldenburg mare. ❤️ I leased her mom as a young rider, who taught me the ropes of eventing and dressage. When Nettle was born I bought her with college graduation money. We just finished her first season of recognized showing where she qualified for finals ❤️
– Annie B.Art Collector, 7 yo Canadian Warmblood gelding, by Mosaic Art of Twin Valley Ranch – Alex B.“Synna” 2011 Oldenburg mare by Sempatico
– Sofia M.4 year old paint mare ☺️
– Dani L.This is Crème Brûlée (Tobi). He is a 12 year old Tobiano. Katherine Bateson found him for me in England and Ashley Holzer, my trainer, approved. He is a British Sport Horse with a little Jazz in his lineage. Fortunately for me, he was not fond of jumping but talented for dressage. He has helped me get back to riding after some surgery and we are schooling some Prix St George movements. He is incredibly sweet and I adore him 💞.
– Diane F.Jayda Sprengelmeyer’s beautiful boy! – Lorraine M.Toffee Van de Langendijk owned by Nancy Lenaerts Rock Pointe Ranch 2024 All Breed Award Reserve Champion Open Training Level
– Josephine L.My beautiful Gypsy Vanner mare Grey Ghost Athena shown by my amazing trainer Heather M Caudill who has taken several Gypsy Vanners to the USDF finals! – Debbie N.Fever’s Western Sky, Yuri ridden by his trainer: Suzannah Wise. Top scoring Gypsy Vanner at the National Dressage Pony Cup in 2023 and 2024.
– Phil K.Little Lakota, my 18 yr old Pinto sport pony – Veronica N.my special spotty boy. We don’t know breeding but he’s 100% a good boy. Recently competed at American eventing championships finishing top 15. and has usdf first and second scores. Just waiting to get the changes for 3rd and bronze! This horse is all heart and try – Ariah T.My APHA Rigley (These Irons Are Real) and I are new to dressage. I love his willingness to try something new with me.
– Jayme N.My welsh pinto cross Ace
– Meaghan D.Remi, now mostly retired, did enjoy a stroll in the dressage arena on the way to do some jumping! We had the compliment from the judge on this day of showing the most bend they had seen that particular day. (We definitely did not follow a bunch of star lesson ponies 😂)
2000 APHA gelding, “Meadowoods Leonardo” aka Remington – Amanda LynnPleinAir Nocturne, Welsh Cob/Pinto with the best temperament and trainability. Everyone’s favorite 🥰
– Amy D.Loving Susan Osborne’s Merlyn! Fell Shetland cross with the loveliest personality and temperament on the planet! We can’t wait to show Pony Cup in the future!
– Elise M.Nina is the epitome of the American Paint Horse. She is athletic, willing, and trainable. I have shown Nina all the way through Intermediate 1 and earned my silver medal on her. Last year a para junior rider showed her successfully at first level.
USDF all breeds APHA first level junior champion and open reserve 2024. – Lynn V.V.Special place in my heart for the spotty ones, especially spirited spotted mares 😂🐉🥰
we do western dressage, among our other disciplines, but WD has stolen my heart and taught us so much!
– Dayna C.Oz’s Bugatti “Lucky” 2024 Adequan/USDF All-breeds Gypsy Vanner Horse Society Reserve Champion Amateur Training Level
– Wendi E.Sam the leopard appaloosa he’s a sweet boy – Dustin V.My Appaloosa x Arabian, Legacy “Confetti Dream” 🥰 I adopted him from a local rescue in 2023, and he’s such an amazing little man ❤️
– Shana C.
