For about 15 years, we showed all over New York with our Morgans. Then, in 2014, we attended a small dressage clinic. This clinic sparked our interest in dressage and we never looked back! 

Growing up, I always wanted a Kennebec Morgan. My mom had worked out at the Kennebec Morgan Farm in the 70s, and told me stories of her happy memories with all the different horses. I was obsessed.

He lives on in our hearts, but my sorrow runs deep for the loss of this great Morgan, He’s the Ticket. By Sharon Ortepio

I couldn’t help myself, and blurted aloud the first thing that came to mind: “Well that’s an interesting cross!” I was immediately embarrassed by this seemingly rude comment. Without skipping a beat, my trainer spoke up and said “He’s a nice looking horse, you just never know.” Little did I know what life had in store for me.

Let us celebrate the para horse. His kindness, his intuition, his spirit, his purpose; he is at schooling shows and the Paralympic theatre, he packs around the novice and dances with the greats.

The rain was still coming down hard during our warmup and what we could do in the footing was limited. So, when they called for the tests to restart, I had no expectations of riding a good test. We just splashed through the puddles, doing the best that we could. It felt like a clean test, but I had no idea where we would place.
