Five Facts About Safe Sport and the US Center for SafeSport


The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent nonprofit committed to ending all forms of abuse in sport. This includes bullying, harassment, hazing, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and sexual misconduct and abuse. The Center is the first and only national organization of its kind. The Center provides services to sport entities on abuse prevention techniques, policies and programs and provides a safe, professional and confidential place for individuals to report sexual abuse within the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movements. USDF works in partnership with USEF to promote Safe Sport.  USDF requires Certified Instructors and L Graduates, along with several other identified committees, instructors and those involved with certain programs, to complete Safe Sport training under the USDF Safe Sport Initiative.

USEF members who have completed the Safe Sport Training can be found in the Safe Sport Directory, located on the USEF website.  Those sanctioned by the US Center for Safe Sport can be on the USEF Safe Sport Sanction List and on the USEF Ineligibility List, also located on the USEF website.

All USEF Adult members with a Competing Membership must complete USEF’s the Safe Sport Training that is provided by the US Center for Safe Sport.  USEF The US Center for Safe Sport also offers a Parents Training Course to assist parents in ensuring their children have a positive and safe sport experience (free to USEF members, $20 for non-members).  In addition, the US Center for Safe Sport provides a Parent Toolkit that can be accessed through their website.
