Spring has sprung at WW, where a new foal by Diamondhead can be seen carousing in pastures surrounded by the Blue Mountains. Nuevo Diamante’ is just the beginning of the 2020 crop of amateur friendly and mid-size sport horses bred by Jessica Wisdom of Equilibrium Equestrian. Wisdom is a small breeder who puts her focus on producing mid-sized dressage horses that have above average movement coupled with an above average amateur friendly character by crossing warmblood mares on two of her proven FEI partners, Welsh Cob stallion North Forks Cardi (now owned by student Traci Viers) and the Hanoverian stallion Diamondhead. For fifteen years, those crosses have proven themselves as easy going, but quite talented individuals time and again.

Wisdom and her partner Kenton Wright oversee the births and the foals live out in pastures at WW’s burgeoning premier facility until it’s time to be prepared for their respective breed inspections and USDF sport horse in-hand shows where the pair have earned national honors with both homebred and client owned horses. As they mature, the youngsters are started under saddle and exposed to a wide range of life experiences that can be found at the eastern Oregon location. From moving cattle to cantering through rolling hills of wheat stubble, they learn how to move both in and out of an arena. These skill sets aid in setting the horses up for USDF Materiale classes and their first taste of their future in the show ring. Frequently, the youngsters have found new owners by this time, but WW is often asked to continue their training and competition careers.
Wright and Wisdom are proudly building on their well rounded partnership at their new location, known as WW, in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. With 35 years of combined experience in the horse industry, they are coming together to offer an even more comprehensive and unique sport horse development program from conception to competition – and foals like the handsome Nuevo Diamante’ keep the future looking bright.
