Fall means Regional Championship time! The 2022 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships are underway this year, with action from Regions 5, 7, and 8, coming hot on the heels of our first trio of Championships. Region 8 – Held September 22-25, 2022 at HITS Show Grounds in Saugerties, NY

I was just a spectator, but felt inspired, motivated and in awe of the talented riders and horses I watched. Tito was originally shown on the Morgan circuit, winning the 2014 NYS 4 year old Morgan sweepstakes class. This was our 1st regional championship- winning a level 1; test 3 open class with a 68.197! – Billie T.Training Level AA and First Level AA! I didn’t really care where we ended up placing – we had great rides! second level has been a huge leap for us so I am beyond happy with our performance. I am grateful for this pony every day and all that he teaches me and does for me. he has the most incredible patience and has been a wonderful dance partner. I am an AA (turning 50 this year). I rode as a kid, then stopped for a few decades. Became a weekend rider for 8 years stuck at training/first level. Then covid changed a lot and I was able to ride more frequently. I got Prince about 18 months ago and showed at region 8 champs last year in second level. This year we did third level champs. And also decided to try the AA eq for the first time. It was a ton of fun and I will do it again. I also got a second horse, Rupert Angus a couple months ago, and showed him for the first time in a 4-2 open class. So much fun! We had an unfortunate bobble in a class ( my fault) but the weather held for the most part and it was very well run and organized. The atmosphere was electric with so many fancy horses trotting around together, golf carts whizzing by, and flags waving in the wind.
