In honor of Mother’s Day, we are celebrating all the moms in our sport! Whether a wonderful mother who rides, a horse show mom who is always there to help her kids and their friends, or a mom who dedicates her time to volunteering at shows or clinics, we want to shine the spotlight on the amazing women who make our sport possible!
Marina Parris Woodhead – Mentor, trainer, mom, co-pilot, adventure buddy, and inspiration 💙 This was taken last regionals when we both won our classes! P.S. thank you mom for riding with me in the womb so I could learn to sit the trot at a very young age 🥰 – Jesse W.It’s so hard to pick just one! I have photos of her being my horse show mom, and me being her “horse show mom.” So thankful to share this sport with Olivia Mayer – Marion P.These mothers are the best, couldn’t do it without you all! My mother included! – Jennifer K.My mom, Ruth Murray – she still rides and lessons, supports me at my shows, ready to wipe the boots, hold the horse or coat, pick the stalls, cheer when I finish, tell me it’s OK if I cry, and supports my crazy horse dream day in and day out, steadfast and unwavering. Best Mom Ever 💖 – Christine M.My MIL is my biggest supporter. Unfortunately my mom has passed, but this woman gives so much of herself and if she lived closer, would be at all the things ❤️ you Mary – Morgan G.The first horse show my mom and I went to by ourselves a few years ago with my OTTB Andy! Bucks County Horse Park dressage show 💗 – Steph K.My kids aren’t into horses, so it’s just me at the horse shows. – Amy L.I talked Jill Kuc into doing a Third Level pas de deux with me as a fun mother daughter thing last summer! 💕 – Becky E.My mom worked hard to keep my sister and I in horses. She knew it was important and they would be there for us when we needed them. This photo was taken last year at a show put on by our local GMO, which she had been attending for 40 years. She had outlived hospice and made it to one more show. Mom died in January of this year, I’m so grateful for all her love and support. – Julie P.This is my non horsey mom holding my heart horse after a show before I loaded him. It’s such a special picture to me because she has historically been very afraid of horses and holding my horse at a show venue was a big deal ❤️ – Samantha S.My mom Edna Blymier lives 6 hours away but finds a way to make it to as many shows as she can with me! It doesn’t matter how old I get… having my mom at a show will never get old 💕 – Danielle N.Shelley Brubaker on the far right has been my horse show momma and my daughter Emma’s horse show grandma for many years- not only showing her own pony StoneCountry’s Nitro but sharing him with Emma as well. ❤️ Three generations of horse crazy. – Sarah S.My daughter, Alexis, and I, a few years back! – Kelly W.My mother, Elaine Arnold Rensink- who fostered, and supported my love of horses. Thanks, Mom- for all the life lessons you taught me. This photo was taken in her early 20’s – riding one of her neighbor’s horses. – Ruth R. Note, USDF strongly recommends all riders wear protective headgear when mountedMy Mom introduced us to dressage 25 years ago because she was never afraid to try something new and could see that we would need to continue to build skills and discipline throughout our lives. At 70 years old she is still trotting down centerline enjoying the sport and being a role model for her children and grandchildren. She has shared her love of dressage with countless riders by encouraging all to try something new. We Love you Linda Baldwin – Chrissy M.Madison Evans! I love what we do together. – Heidi M.I love my momma! Rest in peace Viktor! – Heather B.Dawn Maurer Derr 🤍🤍🤍 – Alexa D.My mom Celeste Hurt – Taylor S.Anne-Lise Brooks💗 She’s my number one supporter, reason I got into horses in the first place and she has woken up at insane hours to drive across states to surprise me to see me ride at shows 💗 She’s the first one to show up and volunteer and lend a helping hand. Helped run the local Pony Club, organized and ran camps, taught lessons and ensured I always had something safe to ride. For years I’d meet people and they’d say “oh! You’re Anne-Lise’s daughter! She’s the best.” And they were right every time – she is the best! Photo by Ella Chedester Photography – Alexandra B.Carmen McCool!!! – Raegan M.Lindsay O’Neil Best mom ever💕 – Ella O.My mom is always by my side, we run our USDF shows, facility, and business together. She’s an incredible horsewoman, supporter and mother! 🐴💛 – Lindsey D.My momma Nancy ❤️ she’s a Grand Prix rider, my coach, and is the most supportive and amazing mom – Gaylen D.This is my mom and I at NDPC last year.
