Meet the 2024 Great American/USDF Regional Championships Venues

Every fall, each of the nine USDF Regions hosts a Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championship, presented by SmartPak. These championships are a yearly goal for many competitors. From beautiful, premier farms across the US, to showgrounds so large they once hosted the Olympics, take a virtual tour of the venues for the upcoming 2024 regional championships.

Region 1 – Virginia Horse Center; Lexington, VA – October 10-13, 2024

Situated on a large, beautiful plot of land in Lexington, VA, the Virginia Horse Center (VHC) kicks off our list of regional championship venues for 2024.  With 600 acres holding nine show rings, eight schooling rings, a 4,000-seat coliseum, eight barns, a cross country course, a tractor pull area, campgrounds, special event spaces, and full café services, the VHC offers a safe, diverse, and exciting facility for all types of events throughout the year.

Region 2 – Kentucky Horse Park; Lexington, KY – September 12-15, 2024

Host site to international events, including the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, and home of the US Dressage Finals presented by Adequan®, the Kentucky Horse Park offers visitors the opportunity to get up-close and personal visiting horses of all acclaim in the Breeds Barn and the Hall of Champions, as well as exploring the history of the horse at the International Museum of the Horse. Featuring an on-site campground with RV hookups, and plenty of recently renovated stabling, the Kentucky Horse Park is located conveniently off of I-75.

Carmen Hanson and Bolero de Reval won the Region 3 Third Level Adult Amateur Freestyle. Carmen did her own choreography, and picked out and edited her own music as well. This made her win even more exciting!

Region 3 – World Equestrian Center Ocala; Ocala, FL – September 19-22, 2024

Offering world-class equestrian competition in the heart of the Horse Capital of the World, WEC-Ocala is a 300-acre facility, boasting 2,100 permanent concrete stalls, 15 outdoor rings and five climate-controlled indoor arenas, ensuring ample space for competition of all disciplines. On-site accommodations and dining options are available during the show season.

Region 4 – The National Equestrian Center; Lake St. Louis, MO – October 10-13, 2024

Located in Lake St. Louis, MO, the National Equestrian Center (NEC) has the moniker of the Midwest’s Premier Event Facility.  Offering many luxury amenities and world class customer service, the NEC rests on 56 acres in the prestigious western suburbs of St. Louis. The facility offers over 207,000 square feet of continuous under-roof arenas and stabling, as well as 42,000 square feet of additional stabling in close proximity to all arenas and activity centers.

Region 5 – Colorado Horse Park; Parker, CO – September 19-22, 2024

The Colorado Horse Park is located in Parker, CO, and is home to a number of equestrian events including dressage competitions.  The 148 acre venue was founded by Helen Krieble in 1992 and hosts more than 40 events annually. It has 11 competition arenas, an RV park, two covered arenas, 300 permanent stalls, and enough portable stalls for more than 1,000 competition horses. The facility also includes annual boarding for over 100 horses. It is the largest horse park west of the Mississippi.

Region 6 – DevonWood Equestrian Center; Sherwood, OR – October 3 – 6, 2024

Located in Sherwood, OR, DevonWood Equestrian Center revolves around dressage.  This family owned operation was founded in 1998, and offers boarding, training, several yearly clinics, and multiple USEF-licensed/USDF-recognized competitions every year.

Region 7 – Los Angeles Equestrian Center; Burbank, CA – September 26-29, 2024

The Los Angeles Equestrian Center is a unique 75-acre venue in California.  In addition to horse shows, the Los Angeles Equestrian Center is home to conferences, conventions, and even a cricket field.  Being located so close to Hollywood, the venue is frequently used for professional video shoots each year by television and movie studios.

Region 8 – HITS on the Hudson; Saugerties, NY – September 19 – 22, 2024

HITS Hudson Valley is located just two hours north of New York City in the heart of the famed Hudson Valley. The site is easily accessible from New England, New York, and beyond. With the scenic Catskill Mountains as its backdrop and the lovely town of Saugerties as its community, the recently renovated showgrounds provide an ideal venue to host both top-level equestrian events and trade shows of all sizes.

Region 9 – Great Southwest Equestrian Center; Katy, TX – October 3 – 6, 2024

With over 70,000 class entries per year, this busy facility is located in Katy, TX.  In addition to their dressage shows, the Great Southwest Equestrian Center has many breed shows, jumper shows, and other equestrian events.  The venue, which was founded in 1986, sits on 65 acres and boasts 650 permanent stalls and 500 temporary ones.
