Exciting Changes on the Horizon

Excitement is building around the 2025 US Dressage Finals presented by Adequan®, and for good reason. Some big changes are in store for the 2025 installment of this already premier mainstay event.

NEW VENUE

As announced in November 2024, for the first time since its inception in 2013, the US Dressage Finals will be departing its ‘old Kentucky home’ and relocating to the highly regarded World Equestrian Center (WEC) in Wilmington, Ohio. When announced, then-USDF President George Williams expressed his enthusiasm that “WEC seemed like an obvious choice to enhance an already exceptional event” and his certainty that the honor, prestige, and experience would match “that to which our competitors have become accustomed, as they take their turn down ‘the centerline of champions.’”

The onsite amenities offered by WEC are unparalleled, with over 200,000 square feet of climate-controlled riding space to host all championship classes and more than 750 permanent climate-controlled stalls. That’s not to mention the delicious onsite dining and numerous luxurious lodging options, such as their pet-friendly Home Away From Home rentals!

With over 125 units located directly across the street from the barns and arenas, Home Away from Homes are available in two or three bedrooms, with king, queen, and twin variations, and feature a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a spacious living and dining room, a full-size washer and dryer, cable and Wi-Fi, and more.

Visit the World Equestrian Center website to learn about their other lodging options, including their Cabins (36), The Wilbur Estate (5 luxury suites), RV Lodging Amenities (176 hookups – 36 of which are full service), and information on preferred hotel options.

EXPANDED NOMINATION WINDOW

The nomination process for the US Dressage Finals occurs immediately following the completion of each respective Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Championship competition, the qualifying competitions for the Finals. In order to ease the stress of the process, this year, competitors will have an additional day to get their nomination, or “pre-entry,” submitted. Previously, competitors had 96 hours (or until midnight the Thursday following the completion of their regional championship) to submit their nomination, keeping their eligibility to enter and compete at the Finals alive. However, in 2025, competitors will now have until midnight on the Friday following the completion of their regional championship to submit their nominations.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming article breaking down each step and providing tips to avoid pitfalls past competitors have experienced when navigating the process. In the meantime, for more detailed information on each step of the declaration, nomination, and entry process, visit the US Dressage Finals website.

EARLIER DATES

With the move to a new venue, and some shifting of some Great American/USDF Regional Championships, this year’s Finals had the opportunity to move up on the calendar, and will be held October 30 – November 2, as opposed to its usual November dates. This move will hopefully reduce weather-related issues and concerns in both traveling and competing by avoiding the increasing unpredictability associated with the later dates.

We know that change can be scary. But both USDF and the US Dressage Finals Organizing Committee are committed to maintaining the experience our competitors have come to expect from this prestigious and highly revered event, and are certain that the World Equestrian Center is a perfect venue to do just that. As the Finals draw closer, more and more information will be made available, so follow us here on YourDressage, the US Dressage Finals website, and all of our socials to stay abreast – and start making your plans now to join us in Ohio!!
