We are continuing to celebrate the Adaptable Arabian as our September Breed of the Month on YourDressage!
We recently asked our community to share a photo of their favorite Arabian or Arabian cross, and the response was overwhelming! Check out part three of our Adaptable Arabian galleries below, and stay tuned for more galleries and stories dedicated to this breed.
Did you know that dressage riders who partner with a member of this ancient breed are eligible for special awards through the Adequan®/USDF All-Breeds Awards program, as the Arabian Horse Association is a participating organization?

Finest Marquessa, registered half arabian and GOV. She is the absolute queen of the barn, and of my life. Mira is absolutely brilliant and she demands me to be a better rider every day. Ive never owned an arabian before, but her cross brings the best of both worlds and she just lights my soul on fire! Photo by Megan Smits Photography. – Val Bradley
Here’s my amazing Full Arabian named Quantico. He at first wasn’t a dressage horse and now I’ve been showing him for several years and working on 4th level. It’s a challenging journey but I love it!! Love the spice that they have when riding. Here’s us showing down in Santa Fe this year! – Tiffany Rutledge
Fimmilena purebred Arab mare had her first show in the sandbox this spring under the guidance of a friend. She’s also shown over fences. She has some opinions, but has become steadier with maturity. She loves connecting with her people and tries harder when given praise. Can’t wait for next year’s show season! – Suzy Miller Johnson
Soquili Solo, My 1997 Anglo-Arabian out of my childhood Arabian mare, Overneet Soquili. I did dressage and combined training with his mom, and she was with me when I achieved my B rating in USPC. I bred my beloved mare in college to a thoroughbred stallion, and had him 28 years before I had to say goodbye to him this summer. Solo and I competed in dressage and he later served as a schoolmaster teaching dozens and dozens of adults and children how awesome Arabian horses are. I am so grateful these special horses were a part of my life for so long! – Marka Lee Dethier
MM American Pi++++// is by the purebred Arabian stallion with whom I got my bronze medal and my heart horse, MM Amali Shetan, and out of the DWB mare Tinsel Tam. Pi is 3x National Champion Sport Horse In-Hand; and 2x National Reserve Champion. I’ve competed Pi through PSG and we are learning FEI together, to work to acheive my USDF Gold Medal. – Maneghi Meadows
This is Legacy Fire Dammage+//, a 16 time national champion. He was born and raised on our home farm, trained by me, and helped my mom recover from a double mastectomy, and helped me recover from a catastrophic knee injury that left me learning how to walk again. He’s started in intro this year, and loves every minute of it. Plus, he’s been a breed ambassador, a lesson horse, and an absolute Camera Hog! 🤣 – Lindsay Hardesty

My 20 y/o PB gelding Quinntessential Charm, aka Quinn. I am a lifelong owner of these amazing horses. We found dressage only two years ago, but we are both loving it! I never intended to show at all, and while we are still just at schooling shows, I am now hoping to try a recognized show in the future. Who knew?!? My only regret will always be not finding dressage sooner! Photo by Marie Cobb Photography. – Katie Singer Keenan
Enzo’s Inspiration, 9 year old Arabian gelding. Whether it’s a dressage show, trail ride around the farm or a bareback ride after a long day at work, Enzo is an amazing partner! He helped me receive High Point Amateur of a USDF show for his first dressage show ever when he was 7 years old. Hoping to get my last USDF Bronze medal scores with him next year! Looking forward to a lifetime of adventures and memories together ☺️🩵 📷 by Sweet Fresno Equestrian Photography. – Jessica Ho
