Upcoming Dressage Development Seminars

In-Person Event

Open to anyone seeking to gain knowledge, these seminars can be delivered via live event, either in a classroom setting or virtually. The first day will be geared toward a general audience and large group and features demonstration riders.  An optional second day of the seminars are designed for a small group and feature a hands-on education experience for participants.

These seminars are focused on the core curriculum in riding/training, teaching and lunging.

USDF Virtual Education: The Most Common Show Ring Mistakes

Online Event – May 12, 2026 8:00PM ET

Upcoming L Education Program Sessions

In-Person Events

Developed by the USDF Judges’ Committee, the L Education Program teaches judges to evaluate the correct training of dressage horses. The Program is divided into two parts; each part is made up of three sessions:

  • Part 1 – “A Judge’s Perspective” is open to all USDF Members; this is the educational foundation of the program.
    • Session A is an introduction to judging and biomechanics. View Video
    • Session B is about judging criteria for gaits, movements, and figures. View Video
    • Session C is about collective marks, equitation, rider biomechanics, and basics.

Silent auditors are allowed in the Part 1 sessions (A, B, and C). In order to receive access to the course material and online modules, you must be a “participant” in the L Education Program. Auditors will only receive an outline of the presentation.

USDF Youth Outreach Clinics

In-person mounted clinic; accepts auditors

These clinics introduce dedicated youth riders to the opportunities of the USDF youth pipeline for development in the sport. Youth may gain hands-on experience as a rider or build their knowledge base as an auditor.
