Winning rides by Team USA’s Marie Vonderheyden and Fiona Howard in today’s FEI Grand Prix Para Test B, plus a fifth-place finish from Rebecca Hart, have put the US in team medal contention at the FEI Para-Dressage World Championships Aachen 2026.
Fresh off her Grade I individual gold medal two days ago, Marie Vonderheyden topped the Grade I Para Test B with a score of 76.375% aboard Fan Tastico H (Furstenball OLD x Weltmeyer), a 2017 Oldenburg gelding owned by Karin Flint.
Howard won her Grade II test with a score of 79.300% riding her Paris 2024 Paralympics partner, the 2013 Hanoverian gelding Diamond Dunes (De l’Or x Wolkentanz), owned by Dressage Family LLC.
Paris 2024 gold medalist Rebecca Hart finished fifth in her Grade III test on a score of 73.533%. Her mount was her partner from Paris, the 2008 Hanoverian mare Floratina (Fidertanz 2 x Rubin Royal OLD), owned by Rowan O’Riley.
Tomorrow, August 22, will see Grades IV and V ride their Grand Prix Para Test B and will conclude with the awarding of the 2026 World Championship para-dressage team medals.
