There are numerous benefits to attending the Adequan®/USDF Annual Convention, but here are just a few examples:

Learn About USDF Governance Structure

Whether attending as a seasoned delegate or as a first time representative or attendee, the USDF convention provides anyone in attendance a better understanding of the USDF governance structure. Anyone can attend the Delegate & Committee Chairs Orientation, which provides the necessary information on procedures for, and how the voting process will take place during, the Board of Governors (BOG) General Assembly. During the various committee meetings, topics and information will be discussed that can influence and determine what motions will be brought forward to the BOG for a vote. At the BOG, delegates will have the chance to discuss these motions and changes, and bring the items to a vote. Whether you are participating in the meeting or just a silent observer, the Board of Governors General Assembly provides a unique insight into USDF governance.

Open Forums & Roundtable Discussions

Throughout the week, there are various forums and roundtable discussions, on a variety of topics. Each forum welcomes all convention attendees, and usually involves time for open discussion and participation from the audience in attendance. Past convention open forums & roundtables have included: Judges, L Program, and Freestyle Open Forum; USEF Rule Change Open Forum; US Dressage Finals Open Forum; and GMO Committee Roundtable Discussions, to name a few.

Learn about the Latest Advancements in US Dressage

There are several advancements and developments in dressage to learn about at convention. A quick list of examples:

  • Changes in USDF governance and policies
  • New dressage products and research from USDF corporate sponsors
  • New USEF rules that affect dressage

Network with Dressage Enthusiasts from Across the Country

On average, there are around 300 annual attendees comprised of competitors, trainers, judges, and other supporters of dressage to network with throughout the duration of the convention. There are also events scheduled that provide time to mingle, such as a welcome reception and a cocktail hour.

Celebrate at the Salute Gala & Annual Awards Banquet

The convention culminates by celebrating the year’s achievements at the Salute Gala & Annual Awards Banquet. With attendees from all over the country, the night starts off with cocktails and fine dining, then segues into acknowledging and awarding the top competitors, volunteers, and legends of our sport. If you are receiving an award, there’s the added thrill of walking across the stage in front of your fellow dressage enthusiasts.
