Trot Stretching: Aids and Purpose

The stretching trot is an important part of dressage training. In this excerpt from the 1994 USDF National Symposium, we see featured clinicians Wolfgang Niggli and Betsy Steiner explain the importance of the stretching trot and what is looked for in an ideal stretching trot.

This video is part of the Trot Stretching Circle short course on USDF University. USDF members can earn 0.25 education credits by logging into the USDF Website and completing each of the short course modules and quizzes.

Note: USDF strongly recommends all riders wear protective headgear when mounted.
