How long have you been with USDF?

I started in April of 2023.

How did you get started?

After graduating from Morehead State University, I worked at the Breeds Barn at the Kentucky Horse Park and later spent several years in the equine veterinary field as a technician for both Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and Doc Lane’s Veterinary Pharmacy. Eventually, I made the switch to a more administrative job as the Admissions Counselor at the Kentucky Horseshoeing School. There, I found I really enjoyed an office position, and many of the daily administrative tasks associated with it. When a position opened at the USDF office, I knew this was where I was meant to be!

What is your favorite part of your job?

It absolutely amazes me to see the generosity of our members daily. I cannot express the privilege it is to witness dressage enthusiasts from around the country coming together to support a common cause in promoting the education of this discipline and helping those less fortunate than themselves.

What is your favorite part of USDF?

I am proud to be a small part of what a valuable resource USDF is to dressage riders of all ages, origins, and experiences. I appreciate my wonderful co-workers here in the office, and that we’re nestled on the grounds of the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park, a place I’ve called my work home for several years.

Share a little about yourself.

I’m a native of Ashland, Kentucky, who has always had a love for horses, but never got to regularly be around them until joining the equestrian team at Morehead. My riding discipline of choice is ranch riding, but I’ve dabbled in hunt seat, saddleseat, and, of course, dressage.

I currently own one horse, a solid black 13-year-old Quarter Horse named Onyx. Together, we’ve competed in reining, ranch riding, working cattle, and some trail obstacles. Currently, Onyx and I are focusing on liberty and trick training. We’ve competed in multiple shows with the International Liberty Horse Association, both in-person and virtually, and have really enjoyed it! While no longer employed at the Kentucky Horseshoeing School, I still serve as a member of its Program Advisory Committee (PAC) and provide an Intro to Horsemanship lecture to their new students as needed.
