We are celebrating the Adaptable Arabian as our September Breed of the Month on YourDressage!
We asked our community to share a photo of their favorite Arabian or Arabian cross, and the response was overwhelming! Check out part two of our Adaptable Arabian galleries below, and stay tuned for more galleries and stories dedicated to this breed.
Did you know that dressage riders who partner with a member of this ancient breed are eligible for special awards through the Adequan®/USDF All-Breeds Awards program, as the Arabian Horse Association is a participating organization?

Paradoxx carries and teaching young riders through training level and can be seen showing at IEA Dressage Zone 3 event. Paradoxx is also used for therapeutic and adaptive riding. This mare is one of a kind! – Denise Talley
I have been blessed to train & ride two AMAZING purebred Arabians in dressage. SRF Dawns Quinela, owned by the late Myra Joeckel and SH Testarosa owned by Suzie Cook. Both were fantastic talented and occasionally opinionated but also could go on a hack bareback and enjoy the day! – Ellie Newton Scofield

My now-retired purebred Arabian, DB Jasur! He’s my first horse I’ve owned as well as my heart horse, and we’ve been through a lot these past 6 years. He’s shown in everything from dressage, to eventing, to even barrel racing, but we finally found our happy place in the last couple years with Western Dressage and Ranch Riding where he consistently scored high 60s, and even in the 70s. Redford, a pillar of our lesson program! He is 23 and packs around the littles at home while also crushing it at the shows. This August he was the East Coast Champion in walk trot for what feels like the 100th time 💕🦄 He is an Intro Level powerhouse and a perfect example of what an introduction into this sport should be. We love Red!🌟 – Meaghan Doherty
Grand Emerald+/ 8 year old Purebred Arabian Stallion. Affectionately known as “Steve”, his owner Michelle Lightcap and he are active competitors at both AHA and Open USDF shows in the Southeast. “I never knew how special arabians were until Steve came into my life” “We have a bond unlike I have ever had with any other horse” – Michelle Lightcap
My first homebred foal Armanni’s Carmen Copy++/. He competes in traditional dressage as well as western dressage. He has many national top tens in both. He also participates in sport horse in hand, show hack, hunter under saddle and enjoys trail riding. He was bred to be the versatile Arabian our breed was always meant to be. Even though he stands a mere 14.2 hands, he may be small but his heart is mighty. I was trying to recreate my heart horse whose name was Rose of Carmen when I bred his mother. Which is how we came up with his unique name. – Roc Arabians
I lost him to colic last fall; he was 20. I had him from age 2. He was a hottie, but very talented and sweet natured – it was just the 180 degree spins that occasionally got me! Confetti’s Magic Marker (Aul Magic x Confetti’s Red Rose). – Sandra Marrujo
Macnificent RS our purebred Arabian stallions shown here by junior rider James Fehr! He himself as well as his offspring are incredible examples of arabian dressage horses! – Shea Johnson
Rain Chance my heart horse and purebred Arabian gelding now 20 years old and still going strong teaching young riders the ropes! This boy helped me get my silver medal and is a superstar in and out of the show ring with a heart of gold! There is no other horse with the heart of an Arabian horse ❤️ – Shea Johnson
