Shopping for a new horse is wonderful in both anticipation and in memory. The actual process though is like shopping for clothes where fantasy and reality collide. I had just lost a very special horse and I knew that if I wanted to continue riding, I would have to start the process of looking for a new partner.

At the time, I must have been crazy as I contacted her owner to get more information and x-rays. She had fractured her left hock, and although it was not a well-placed break, it was a clean break.

All those years ago, I never imagined that I’d have two wonderful Trakehners that have introduced me to some wonderful people. Both the people and the horses have made me a Trakehner fan for life.
