Learn more about The Dressage Foundation’s Gifted Memorial Fund from Gifted’s owner/rider, Carol Lavell.

Gifted was inducted into the Roemer Foundation/USDF Hall of Fame in 1997. His accomplishments included an individual gold medal at the North American Dressage Championships in 1989, two World Cups, and team bronze medals at the 1992 Olympics, and 1994 World Games. Gifted and Carol were also the first Americans to win the Grand Prix at the Hermes Internationals Dressage Show in Goodwod, England.

The Gifted Memorial Fund was seeded with donations received in remembrance of Gifted. Donations from friends of The Dressage Foundation have allowed to fund to grow to include one $1000 grant for one adult amateur in each region, and two $1000 wild card grants (available to any adult amateur in any region). It was created to enable adult amateur riders to set aside time to work with their horse and a trainer of choice, outside of the regular daily pattern.

Applications for the Gifted Memorial Fund grant closes September 15. See The Dressage Foundation website for scholarship guidelines.
