Ellin Dixon Miller received the USDF Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. During her tenure as USDF President (1994-1999), she was a transforming force. Her leadership and communication skills helped create a strong working relationship between USDF and the American Horse Show Association (now US Equestrian) and United States Equestrian Team. The USDF Hall of Fame, Instructor Certification program, Young Rider Program, FEI-Level Trainers Conference, Breeders Championship Series, and USDF Connection all got their start under Ellin’s leadership. Today, USDF’s permanent home, the National Educational Center at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, is a culmination of Ellin’s vision and groundwork during her presidency.
