This month on YourDressage, we are celebrating Lusitanos as our Breed of the Month.  Here, the United States Lusitano Association, an Adequan®/USDF All-Breeds Awards Participating Organization, shares 5 reasons to look forward to the upcoming USLA Lusitano Conference, which will celebrate this breed.

For Lusitano enthusiasts there has been a recent surge of energy in the United States with the formation of the United States Lusitano Association (USLA).

USLA is an association rooted in a deep love of the Lusitano that approaches standard processes with creativity and innovation. In 2020, at the inception of the association, they began with a bang by introducing members to an entirely paperless online platform for form submission. They are continuing to challenge old standards and ask the question “Why not more than this for the breed and the organization?”.

Core to the association is the goal to further elevate the Lusitano on the world sport performance stage. “Our belief is that by building a strong educated community of breeders, riders, and enthusiasts we perpetuate the breed both in quality and notoriety from good to great,” said USLA representative Sarah Macone.

Enter the USLA Lusitano Conference, 2023. Never before has the Lusitano been the center of an event in the United States on this scale. This event, meant to unite and inspire the Lusitano community in the USA, will play host to honored guest speakers and clinicians from around the world.
