The fabled Norwegian Fjord! We are celebrating these horses as our October Breed of the Month on
#YourDressage! We recently asked our social media followers to share a photo of their favorite Fjord or Fjord cross for a chance to be featured in a gallery highlighting these wonderfully versatile horses on YourDressage! We will be sharing stories and galleries all month long from folks who love this breed.
Did you know that dressage riders who choose a Norwegian Fjord as their dressage mount are eligible for special awards through the Adequan®/
USDF All-Breeds Awards program, as the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry is a participating organization?
Sven. We went the US Dressage Finals for a First Level Christmas-themed freestyle. He is the love of my life! – Whitney M.
Erling and I have just started our dressage journey together! – Jill D.
I have two!!! My bookends. One is soon to be 28. The other 3. I’ve owned both since they were yearlings. My old guy (Ludevic) has taught hundreds of kids how to ride. The 3 year old (FMF Tolgryn) will someday be a lesson pony in my Program. Love this breed 🦄 – Cody M.
Kjor Dagney – Kate H.
Kjor Bjorn I: my incredible partner for the last two years. We showed successfully at second level last year and were reserve champions for fjord all breed awards at second level. We’ve been working this summer on making the leap to third level. We’ve shown western dressage level 2 and 3, and evented at starter this year too! – Rachel C.
I love the fjord breed, I brought home my first one at 4 months old, JJH Tucker, he is a week away from 2 years old & we won our first Reserve champion this past weekend in a costume charity competition dressed as a Pegasus & Valkyrie. – Miranda F.
Therapy horses both 19 💕mares Kayla and Ethel – Vanessa M.
Faro’s k-sassy “sassy” is our unicorn lesson horse. She has taught many young riders how to go down center line. She is a pro at the intro tests but also has stepped it up for the more advanced riders. We all love our girl. – Ashley C.
Echo Valley Ally, Pacific Northwest. Cleaned up at training level this year. Next year we will be going after those 1st and 2nd level scores for a bronze medal. I love her so much I’m hooked on the breed and purchased an awesome 2 yr fjord I can’t wait to develop. – Jennifer K.
My Jeffery. I’ve had him since I was a kid and he was only 4 years old. He’s 19 now. – Aidan T.
❤❤❤ – Nicole V.
ONW Sunniva ❤️❤️❤️ – Leana T.

(In response to previous photo submitted by Jason W.) it is funny how easy it is to see that picture is from wilhelmsborg in Denmark 😆 one of my favourite pictures of my fjords is also from that year, from the championship for 5 years olds. We got second last and beaten by 20% by the top stallions, but still proud of my girl 😁 she was the only mare in the 5 year compitition who have had a foal the year before. – Charlotte D.
Smitty is my unregistered kill pen rescue gelding. Photo taken during a Jane Weatherwax clinic. I lost my registered mare, Tea, last year. She was a BDF Obelisk daughter. – Trish R.
Here is FMF Olivia getting some of her qualifying scores in an absolute frog-strangler of a downpour 😂 – Bethany O.
