We are celebrating the Sensational Saddlebred as our June Breed of the Month on YourDressage! We recently asked our social media followers to share a photo of their favorite Saddlebred or Saddlebred cross, and tell us a little about them, for a chance to be featured on YourDressage! Throughout the month of June, we will also be sharing stories from folks who love this breed.
Dressage riders who choose a member of this versatile breed as their mounts are eligible for special awards through the Adequan®/USDF All-Breeds Awards program, as the American Saddlebred Horse and Breeders Association is a participating organization!
Submitted by Hallie J.Broadway’s Moonlight Memories, “Quake” and she’s just starting her journey. – Carrie K.Submitted by Leslie P.The lovely Tres Beau showing Intro level at a schooling show. He was pulled from a kill pen in Kansas by his owner and I had the opportunity to restart him. He loved Dressage and his work ethic was second to none!
– Cassie B.He is loving his new career in Dressage!
Show name: For Saki’s Sake
Reg name: Sunrise’s Taj Mahal
– Desiree R.1/2 Saddlebred and 1/2 percheron. Lower level dressage and trail expert. 😁
– Jeannette N.My pinto ASB, Camelot’s Hot Shot Firecracker aka 🔥 – Katherine C.Cole’s Tin Cup Chalice-my 15yo Saddlebred who I repurposed from being at risk of going to the Amish. He loves dressage!
– Rachel S.VHF Rhythm’s Licorice Maker – the 18 year old Warrior comeback queen. She’s an amazing example of the Saddlebred horse! This mare has come back from so many things, a fetlock injury/surgery, EPM, then a near death experience having her first baby (broad ligament hematoma, then a colic surgery that uncovered her ruptured uterus)…. A year later she’s stronger than ever and we even competed in a small Combined Test – including Intro A dressage test where we scored a 70%! Her highest ever. Shes truly a miracle horse, a fantastic beautiful ASB and I’m glad she’s mine. – Rebecca S.Me and my ASB, Choo Choo Charlie aka Chooie!
– Mei H.
Note, USDF strongly recommends all riders wear protective headgear when mounted.
