Partnering with Drafted has changed my entire perspective. I used to think I’d only ever take on a young OTTB. I never expected to get a ten-year-old war horse.

It was a snowy February day when I rode Minerva for the first time. She was a mover, responsive to my leg, & had gentle eyes that reminded me of my first love.

I am able to remind myself that I am powerful and resilient...This sport is not easy, and we should be lifting each other up.

You don’t have to feel fearless to begin. Sometimes all it takes to find your way home is the courage to start.

I don’t ride for anyone else anymore. I ride for the honor of riding my boy, and for the joy of it. If we had a great, fun ride, who cares about the score!

Once I brought her home, she became a little wild the more we got to know each other, and there were several moments where I wondered if I’d made a mistake.

In 2022, we made the decision to buy a horse for our family. Until that point, I had only been on a couple of trail rides, and neither had gone well.
