There are sixteen members of the Executive Board: three At-Large Directors, nine Regional Directors (one from each region), and four Officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary).

The Executive Board establishes committees and oversees both councils and committees, but no member of the board may chair a council or committee with the exception of the Steering Committee which is chaired by the Vice President, and the councils, each of which is chaired by the respective At-Large Director.

The Executive Board meets in person only twice a year- for the Executive Board spring meeting, and for their fall meeting at the Adequan®/USDF Annual Convention. However, the board is in regular contact through conference calls and emails, as well as with the appointed USDF staff liaison and Executive Director.

The members of the Executive Board are elected by the Board of Governors (BOG) at the BOG General Assembly during the annual convention. The USDF membership or the Nominating Committee nominates candidates for Officer and Regional Director positions. Nominations for Officers and Regional Directors are also accepted from the floor of the BOG. Nominations for At-Large Director are not accepted from the floor of the BOG; they can only be put forth by the committees within their respective council.

The Executive Board elects two members from the board to serve on the USDF Bylaws Committee.

  1. Chris – The USDF Board of Governors (BOG) is the governing body of USDF with its members voting and making the major decisions for the organization. The BOG is composed of Participating Member Delegates (elected by the members of each USDF Region to represent a region’s Participating Membership) and Group Member Delegates (designated by each USDF Group Member Organization to represent a GMO’s membership).
