USDF’s flagship publication, USDF Connection, has been delighting and educating members for over 20 years. Currently publishing six issues per year, it contains everything from event recaps, trending topics in dressage, training tips, and so much more. Here are 5 reasons to love USDF Connection!
Award winning content
Through the years, USDF Connection has been the recipient of more than 30 American Horse Publication (AHP) Equine Media Awards,including the prestigious 2016 AHP General Excellence Association Publication Award. A few other notable award winners from USDF Connection were “Clinic: Get to Second Base” by Beth Baumert winner for Instructional Series, “New Findings in Hoof Care” by Sally Silverman winner for Horse Care, and “Davinci Horse” illustrated by Catherine Twomey winner in Open Illustration. USDF Connection has regularly placed in the top three of multiple AHP award categories, such Service to the Consumer, Instructional Single Article, and Instructional Series.

Advice from the experts
Flipping through an issue of USDF Connection gives the reader access to insight from many top riders and trainers from throughout the dressage community. Some of these noted and recurring contributors include;

Beth Baumert – Beth is a USDF Certified Instructor through Fourth Level, a USDF L Program Graduate with Distinction, and author of the book When Two Spines Align: Dressage Dynamics. She also serves as president of The Dressage Foundation, a position she has held since 2014.

Janet Foy – Janet is an FEI 5* dressage judge with numerous other judging credentials to her name. She is a member of the USDF Judges and L Program Committees, as well as a member of the USDF L Program Faculty. Additionally, she is the author of the book Dressage for the Not-So-Perfect Horse.

Dr. Hilary Clayton BVMS, PHD, DACVSMR, MRCV, – Dr. Clayton is a current professor and Mary Anne McPhail Dressage Chair emerita at Michigan State University. She was the original holder of the Mary Anne McPhail Dressage Chair in Equine Sports Medicine at Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, East Lansing, from 1997 to 2014 and most recently, was a member of the 2020 class of inductees into the Roemer Foundation/USDF Hall of Fame, for her contributions to the sport.
Educational content

Readers of USDF Connection are hungry for educational content, especially things they can put into practice immediately. The magazine delivers on this by offering loads of exclusive educational content, including multiple training series: most recently “Nailing It!
