Submitted by Rebecca Tadikonda: Region 8's Fourth Level Freestyle Champion. After a tough day in Prix St. Georges championship, we came back with a super fun and harmonious ride in the freestyle!
Fall means Regional Championship time! The 2024 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships are in full swing – check out the action from Regions 5 and 8 below! Regions 2 and 3 were also full of fun photo ops! A huge thanks to our sponsors Great American Insurance Group, SmartPak, Platinum Performance, and LeMieux! Here are some of the sights our social media followers shared with us from the competitions:
Region 5 – Colorado Horse Park; Parker, CO – September 19-22, 2024
– Heather P.– Heather P.Region 5! I met so many new people who were competing against me but were also so incredibly kind!

– Tracey C.Region 5 Ch 4th Level Freestyle and Open – Kendall B.– Heather P.-Tiffany R.– Debi E.– Kadriya M.-S.Region 5 my favorite part was having the support of friends and family and especially my coach Sue Martin. Heather Petersen does a fabulous job of organizing.
– Donna D.We didn’t win any ribbons, but we won by making it there and having a blast! – Natasha R. Read about Natasha and The Banner’s adventures in The Branches, The Roots, and The BannerRegion 5 I-1 AA Champion Baltic 6 – Lisa B.Region 5
– Sydni C.Wallace G at Region 5 Championships – Geter RanchTaylor Lemmon and Mardi Gras Mayday at Region 5 champs. We entered the Dressage Seat Equitation AA Championship class on a whim – I hadn’t ever done a dressage seat equitation class before, but was qualified for it because of qualifying for first level champs. I didn’t realize at the time that 1) I was riding against ALL AA’s from ALL levels, 2) we had to ride a pattern (memorized that one real quick) and 3) that it would take so. long. There were I think 18 or 19 people in the class, 3 groups of 6 or so that each rode for 15-20 minutes, then they announced the top 10 (I was shocked to make this cut), then we rode a pattern, then they dismissed 2 more people (at this point I was like–COOL, I got a ribbon at least!). I happened to be closest to Noah who was handing out the ribbons, and he waved me over and pulled out the reserve champion ribbon – this picture captured the complete SHOCK and EXCITEMENT of it all! It was such a high point of our week!

When your horse is a ham and feels quite pleased with himself surrounded by his ladies 😌. Teamwork really does make the dream work and it’s so wonderful to make memories with some of the friends, mentors and coaches who help, encourage and support this journey 😃🐴❤️
– Tara K.Thrilled with how well my young horse handled the big atmosphere at USDF Region 8, but the best part was meeting up with friends and making new ones!🥰 Looking forward to returning! #arabianhorse
