Submitted by Kristina H. - My Hanoverian Winzer 207, better known as Goose, is an amateur dream horse. He can go from schooling 4th level one day to giving pony rides to a complete beginner the next. He has the best mind of any horse I ever worked with, and every day he lives up to his nickname of “The Golden Goose”.
Hanoverians are our YourDressage Breed of the Month for March! This breed originated in Germany, and is one of the oldest and most numerous of the Warmblood breeds. Hanoverians are known for their good temperament, athleticism, beauty, and grace.

Submitted by Don K. – This is our first Hanoverian mare, Brimming, sired by Banter (Bolero/Grande/Duellant) and out of Abundance (Adroit/Akzent I/Ceylon), who was bred by George and Catherine Walker. She produced 13 offspring, 9 were fillies. Eight of those were Elite Mares/Hanoverian Premium Mares and one Elite Eligible Mare. Her offspring have gone on to win at all levels of dressage and are now producing another generation of ‘Brimmings’. Such a prolific broodmare, who passed along her trainability as well as her excellent conformation (form to function). She is the main reason we are breeding Hanoverians today at OBX Farm.

Submitted by Heather R. – My heart horse Windsor. I bought him for $1 because he’d been diagnosed with navicular and was no longer useful in the riding school lesson program. A good farrier got him sound (it wasn’t navicular), and he ended up taking me to the USDF junior/young rider team championship in 2001.

Submitted by Jamie R. – This is Beatrix WS – 2018 Hanoverian filly by Benicio, out of EM Fly High (Florencio/Hohenstein), bred as a custom foal for me by Walkabout Station. She is coming three and already has two USDF Breeders Series Championships under her belt – she was the Southern Region Champion Filly in 2019 and 2020. She is now home in Region 6 and will be started under saddle soon. I’m very excited about her future!
